According to official news from Bochum, the team's coach Heijin and sports director Dick Dufner left office. The original training course was cancelled, and current U19 coach David Sibers will temporarily take over the first team work from Tuesday.

Bochum was reduced to the Bundesliga in the new season, but only won 1 win and 4 losses at the beginning, and performed poorly, so the club decided to change coaches.

Bochum statement read: "In view of the disappointing season start at the sports level after the relegation to the Bundesliga and the response to the stagnant team development, the club made this difficult decision after in-depth communication with all parties involved."
