Famous reporter: Before choosing Moody with the No. 14 draw at the 2021 draft, the Warriors strongly considered Murphy

According to famous reporter Jake Fischer, the Warriors and the Spurs are interested in Pelicans forward Trey Murphy III.

Several sources said the Warriors had a strong interest in Murphy and had contacted the Pelicans this summer. Several sources revealed that it should be clear that the Pelicans have always refused any trade inquiries about the 25-year-old wing and attach great importance to it.

At the 2021 NBA Draft, the Warriors strongly considered choosing Murphy before choosing Moody with the No. 14 draw. Murphy was later selected by the Pelicans at the 17th pick.

Murphy's contract has four years left, with a total amount of $112 million.

In the 2024-25 season, Murphy played 53 games for the Pelicans, averaging 21.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.7 blocks per game.
