According to Spanish Catalan Radio, Girona does intend to sign Romeu back, but the player needs to agree to terminate the contract with Barcelona first and accept a salary cut before he can play back Girona. Romeu's contract with Barcelona expires in the summer of 2026. He was loaned to Girona by Barcelona last season and made 31 appearances for Girona.
