According to Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, Kim Min-jae had no intention of returning to the Turkish arena. Yağız Sabuncuoğlu wrote on social media: "Kim Min-jae does not intend to return to Turkey. The South Korean defender hopes to play for a team with potential for the Champions League title. Bayern expects to receive a fee of 70 million euros from his transfer." In August 2021, Kim Min-jae joined Fenerbahce and transferred to Naples in July of the following year.
