After retiring, Rakitic chose to join the sports management team of Hayduke Club in Croatia to participate in the club's sports policy formulation.

Rakitic updated social media: "It has been two months since the new chapter started. This is my first transfer window off the court and away from the normal pre-season preparations. I have learned a lot and have more motivation for future challenges. Thanks to the Hayduke Club and Golan Vucevic for the opportunities and trust they have given me."
