Irving: I wonder if public salary exposes too much privacy and how much risk will it bring?
Today, Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving expressed his personal opinion on the impact of NBA and sports athletes' salaries on player safety. He said: "I'm wondering how much risk will this information be to the safety of players' lives when people know clearly (public salary)? Everyone is accustomed to this now. But what I think is, is it to some extent that it exposes too much privacy?" This summer, Kyrie Irving refused to execute a $43 million player contract for the 2025-26 season, and signed a three-year $119 million contract with the Mavericks. This contract includes player options for the 2027-28 season.
